Andy Robbins

This is a collective of amazing musicians led by one wonderful Andy Robbins.
The latest release is "Two Horses" and to me it sets a scene of two lovely horses living a perfect care-free existence in an unspoilt meadow world.
I'm talking shite aren't i?

No, seriously! Its beautiful!

Mountains Became Machines

Ah! The good old days. Formed by 4 young hopefuls inspired by the post-rock/metal greats of our age, the Mountains Became Machines' soft and hard boiled approach to serving eggs has sparked so much interest, whether good or bad.
I'm, for one, biased. MBM was partially my fault so im going say they are nothing short of excellence. But dont take my word for it.

Ox Scapula

Now then! If i could make one wish and that wish was to play in any local band of choice, this would be it. Ox Scapula! They bring back so many feelings and memories from growing up listening to my ginger-haired friend's collection of 80's and early 90's krautrock and indie-punk vinyls. Amongst this large collection was Superchunk, Polvo, This Heat's "Deceit" album and many more.
What the above bands listed and Ox Scapula have in common for me is, they are pure un-refined, un-smelted
gold ore.
Still cool and straight from the dirt!

iye

Ooh ducks, i cant say enough about this Stoke ambient/progressive/indie rock ??-piece. Other than i do miss the absolutely mesmerising state i entered when i witnessed this bands lovingly played, breathtaking compositions.
Where iye's beneficial elements leaked from was their array of beautifully raised and beyond talented musicians. They played from their hearts and souls.
No other band could have pulled this off. Even if they were to cover it!

White Mountains

White Mountains. Most probably one of thee most original and influencial solo movements i have ever been, well, moved by. If you gain comfort from down tempo acoustic dirge with pure ethereal magic ripping through your heart, then i urge you to clean your ears and pay close attention to White Mountains.....

...wait i'm not done, i only slightly covered the acoustic side of things, yes there is more to WM.
You'll see.

Herzoga

Oh, china pottery and spitfire fighter planes have come out this small city. Stoke and Trent, Staffordshire has also got some pretty awesome sounding bands exploding out of her old rotten bowels. A great opportunity to introduce "Herzoga", 3-piece "Wrong Pop" outfit. I enjoy seeing these guys more and more everytime, perhaps because the more you see the more you feel involved in their great live performance.

This is why, for the first of many times im gonna post-
